Slow Cooker Chocolate Cake

Due to popular demand, here is the recipe for chocolate cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) Betty Crocker SuperMoist Chocolate Fudge cake mix
  • 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup mik chocolate chips

Directions
  1. 1Spray a 4 quart slow cooker with cooking spray or grease inside with butter/margarine/crisco
  2. 2In a large bowl, add the cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, oil, and sour cream and beat until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  3. 3Pour mixture into the slow cooker and cook on high for 1 hour, then turn down to low and cook for 3  more hours or until cake is set. Every slow cooker cooks at a different speed so make sure to check it at 4 hours. The cake will still be moist but not soggy. If you can, remove pot from slow cooker so cake does not continue cooking, or unplug.
  4. 4Dish up big scoops from the pot and serve warm with warmed fudge topping or Hersheys syrup, a large scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and nuts!

NOTE: Every slow cooker is different. My slow cooker cooks at a higher heat than my mom's apparently so I would highly recommend frequent cake checks toward the end of the cooking time to avoid over cooking.
