That about how my life is going right now. I'm busy and poor. That's all I can say about that. Except the doctors bill came for my surgery and I'm happy to say that it's TOTALLY payable. Phew! I was nervous about that.
Speaking of being nervous, the other day I checked the mail and there was an unassuming envelope addressed to me. I looked at the return address... "Sandra Day O'Connor district court" I was like "but I've paid all my bills...I haven't hit any pedestrians lately...what the heck?
Well, it was the dreaded "Jury duty" letter.
But this was no ordinary letter. It didn't look anything like any jury summons I had ever seen. So I looked it over carefully and asked my mom about it. Ugh. Federal court. That means its even harder to get out of.
So I politely informed them on my questionaire thingy that 1) I did not reside at the address they had on file and that I had not resided in Maricopa county for quite some time. and 2)Come January, when I am scheduled to show up, I will be married and a permanent resident of the state of Utah.
So long story short...they can't make me report to the stupid Arizona federal court. Take that legal system!
They better excuse me.
That is really all my exciting news. Oh, and Andrew and I got our bed and moved it into the house. It pretty much takes up the whole bedroom, but it looks good and most of all its comfy. I can't wait to move in and have a comfy bed for the first time at school. =P
Outside all that, I returned to school, finished my last week, have finals to prepare for and I've have about 4 interviews in the last couple days. I have 2 more tomorrow so wish me luck!
I've been moving way too much...but I just don't know how I can stop...there is so much to do. I'm getting married in a week and a half!!!!
I'm all growed up! But there's still much to do in this big world...I'm just so little still!

Episode 38: In Which Jessica Recieves a Key and Finds Need to Re-evaluate Her Life
Well, It's officially December! I thought it was never going to get here!!!
Technically...there are still 3 more long weeks of waiting. I've resigned myself to the fact that these will be the longest and shortest weeks of my life. On the one hand, next week is my last official week of school and finals start on the 13th. YIKES!
On the other hand...every night Andrew has to leave to go home gets harder and each day til I see him again gets longer...time is a very very funny thing. When you look at it closely, you can really see that time is just something developed for the Mortal world...because if it was really an eternal principle...it would be a little more...oh what's the word...steady? My vocabulary seems to be leaving me these days...
Anyhow, I could muse about how time works for...well...a long time! =P
In new and exciting news, Andrew and I have officially recieved the keys to our apartment!!! Which reminds me...rent is due today...
Anyhow. We bought a bed on Saturday and now we have a place to put it! It'll be so fun!
In other hilarious news...the apartment is part of a house that has been subdivided into 4 apartments so there are some hilarious floor plan quirks. First, the kitchen is TINY because it is an addition to the original house and they had to put a window in the bedroom to be up to code. So we get a tiny kitchen and a funny little alcove in the bedroom. Both are workable, the alcove makes a good study nook (or pantry if I get my way) and the kitchen...well...we served our missions in Japan. We can handle tiny kitchens. :)
The most hilarious thing to me, is that the original window to the bedroom is still there...right in the middle of the kitchen. It's like a diner window, it makes me laugh! I could make breakfast and toss the pancakes like frisbees to Andrew! =P Or I could grow an herb garden on the windowsill. That would also be fun. This is going to be hilariously fun and awesome!
In other news, I just finished my budget assignment for my finance class. I need to do some SERIOUS re-evaluation of my life here. Had I not been a procrastinator and actually put the numbers in as they were created I wouldn't be feeling so awful right now...but no...I saved up the receipts all months and put them in all at once.
Then end result? I spent 3500 dollars in the last 2 months!!! Granted, some of that was apartment deposits and such...but a lot of it was food! And not fast food...GROCERIES! Jessica got a LITTLE too happy with her cookbooks and this is the end result. So now I have to make some serious adjustments to my life. As it is, Andrew and I REALLY don't have the money to live every month...we'll find it somehow. (dear BILLION employers that I have submitted applications to...now would be a GOOD time to magically decide to hire me)
I could sell plasma...but I can't do that forever...I already have dents in my arm from giving blood so many times =P
Oh well...things will happen. I'll just focus on what we have right now.
Which basically means I need to faithfully keep a shopping list up on the fridge so I don't waste trips to the store...and I'll spend less in the end on gas and at the store.
I need to shop with cash so that I know when I am over my budget and cuz cash is harder to part with than a card
I need to keep a careful and diligent budget so that I know when I am getting close to the wire.
I need to practice planning menus and planning them around the sales in the ads.
That's pretty much all I've got for now. I'll post pictures of the apartment soon. I'm so glad I'm an accounting major. Not that this stuff is really accounting...but its finances, and if I enjoy this when its horribly depressing to look at, I'm sure accounting will be a good fit for me :)
These next few weeks will be long, these next few months will be hard...but we'll survive. When you're as skinny as Andrew and I, its hard to tighten your belt anymore than it already is...but we'll do it somehow! =P
